I'm over 40 years old. I remember enjoying the feel and look of dresses when I was about 8 and started dressing regularly when I was 14. I go out to do all the things that a woman does - shopping, going for beauty treatment, restaurants, hotels, bars, clubs etc. 

What is your name and what is your background?

Lucy Hamilton - based in London, working as an international business consultant.

Is your name an alter ego? femme name, why did you choose that name?

When I first started dressing, I asked my mother what she would have called me if I had been born a girl.

How old are you and how young were you when you first thought about or actually cross-dressed?

Over 40 - I stopped counting on reaching that dangerous stage for a woman, when her age passes her bra size! I remember enjoying the feel and look of dresses when I was about 8 and started dressing regularly when I was 14.

Where do you buy your clothes?

Department stores, dress and lingerie shops and recently Ebay.

What leads you to choose the styles you wear?

My style is usually what I would be wearing if I was a woman doing the same type of work and living the same social life as mine, clubbing, dining etc.

Do you have one look, or many images?

Usually the sophisticated professional career lady. Occasionally, I enjoy fantasy roles - everything from bride and schoolgirl to French maid and high-class mistress.

Is make-up and hair important to you and if so how do you achieve your look?

My make-up and hair styles are core to my femininity. I usually stick quite close to the look that I have developed over the years with my make-up, but love to try lots of different hairstyles. Usually I do my own make-up and hair, but I do have professional make-overs and go to a beauty salon have my hair styled.

To what degree do you practice hair removal, and other body feminisation?

I try to remove all body hair by waxing or shaving. I use body creams regularly.

Who knows you dress?

My mother, my immediate boss at work (a lady) and a very few family members and friends. 

How often do you dress and if you go out where to?

At least weekly, but often for several continuous days. I go out to do all the things that a woman does (except going to the office) - shopping, going for beauty treatment, restaurants, hotels, bars, clubs etc..  

So what is a man and what is a woman?

A particular combination of chromosomesr skirts.

Whats your definition of feminine?

It can be either a physical or a mental state (or both).

Where do you feel you fit on the transgender spectrum CD TV TS?

I usually describe myself as a TGirl because I think that I am more than TV, but as cross dresser is a precise translation of transvestite I do not really understand the difference (although the former sounds less happy in the role!).

Are you happy to be called a Tranny?

Completely happy with either description.

To what degree do you feel gender dysphoric?

Slightly.

To what degree would you consider permanent hair removal, hormones, and surgery?

Hair possibly, hormones or surgery never.

What individual has inspired you most in relation to your TG inclinations?
My mother.

Do you feel that you have any choice in your TG thoughts and actions?

Yes, but I am very happy to be a TGirl.

Have you ever suffered harassment or abuse?

No. 

Have you tried to stop?

No

Are your sexual preferences changed by your TG experiences (even temporarily)?

Yes, as a TGirl I enjoy the attention of men.

Have you suffered illness, depression, relationship break ups because of being TG?

No.

If you could relive your life without the TG experience would you?

No.

Do you feel that releasing your gender gift Has released creativity, that may otherwise have remained repressed?

Unfortunately not! However, I am sure that it has given me a much better understanding of, and empathy with, women than I would have had if I had not been a TGirl. I really enjoy women's company and they seem happy having very personal conversations with me.

Have you ever performed and if so how did you get into performing and what have you done? What outstanding TG experiences stand out in your mind?

No performances beyond occasional low-standard lipsynching and karaoke. My memories of outstanding TG experiences tend to be "firsts" - having my hair and nails done in a beauty salon, having a dress made to my own design, travelling abroad as a woman, being invited to a "straight" dinner party, being kissed, etc.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone that has just found they are not the only tranny in the world?

Not to feel ashamed or worried, but enjoy the extra dimension that it can bring to your life.

I count myself fortunate both to have a strong feminine aspect and to have been able to fit it comfortably into my life. Although I am sure that it would have always come out, my first TG experience occurred when I was 13 at a boy's only school and was given the part of Alice in a school play of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party. I immediately enjoyed wearing a pretty dress and playing a girl's role. I was not a great actress, but must have been reasonably convincing because the next year I played Juliet in a modern dress version of Romeo & Juliet .
