Amanda Murray's Profile

Amanda is a TV that is a 51 year old Business owner who is married and lives in Oxfordshire. Only his wife knows that he dresses. She has helped him with make up etc in the past but is not really comfortable with the whole thing and it does affect their sex life, however she believes that he should do what he really wants and has no objections to his visits to the WayOut Club.

What is your name and what is your background?

Amanda Murray (Mandy to my friends) I live in Oxfordshire and run my own business plus I am married .

Is your name an alter ego? femme name, why did you choose that name?

Quite simple, I chose the same name as Mandy Rice Davies of Christine Keeler / John Profumo fame. I think she was fab (as was Christine) I have a great respect for working girls and if I was a real girl I would probably be one.

How old are you and how young were you when you first thought about or actually cross-dressed?

Too old now, 51 !! and I first tried on some of my sisters clothes when I was 10 or 11

Where do you buy your clothes?

I have bought clothes from various places, dresses, tights etc from department stores (House of Frazer, Selfridges etc) Shoes need to come from specialists due to size (usually from places recommended in the Tranny Guide. Recently though I visited Doreen Fashions in London, (see listing in TG AtoZ directory), and bought some new shoes, two mini dresses and a new pair of boobs (all a girl could want under one roof, and they are very nice too!) .

What leads you to choose the styles you wear?

Well a few years ago I was complemented on a number of occasions at the Way Out Club on my legs. So, if you've got 'em flaunt 'em I say, so it's mini skirts and mini dresses all the time for me! I'm a bit of a tart I guess.

Do you have one look, or many images?

as above!.

Is make-up and hair important to you and if so how do you achieve your look?

Yes very. I have tried doing it myself but the professionals are better. I tried wigs at first but never really liked them and then, back in the 90's, I visited a dressing service in London called Girls Like Us, (no longer open). A very talented lady, Peroschka? (not sure about the spelling) told me that as my hair was fairly long she could do it in a feminine style. As far as I was concerned the results were just what I had been looking for but judge for your self as I have attached a photo. I am just about to visit The Boudoir dressing service, (see listing in TG AtoZ directory), for the first time prior to a visit to the Way Out Club, (see listing in TG AtoZ directory). I can't wait to see how they make me look. Make up wise, I leave it to the person doing it as she knows best but I insist on having red nail polish on my longish nails. (that's the tart again) .

To what degree do you practice hair removal, and other body feminisation?

For some years now I have had my legs, arms and a little bit of hair on my stomach waxed every month. I am lucky and do not have a hairy chest or hair on my back. Waxing is fine once you have had it done a few times (don't know what the fuss is about :-) and I have this done regularly whether I am going out or not. I REALLY do not like being hairy anymore and smooth legs are just devine! .

Who knows you dress?

Only my wife. She has helped with make up etc in the past but is not really comfortable with the whole thing and it does affect our sex life unfortunately, however she believes that I should do what I really want and has no objections to my visits to the Way Out Club, (www.thewayoutclub.com). .

How often do you dress and if you go out where to?

Only when going to the club which, unhappily I have not been to for a couple of years. Still, I am about to put that right so Mandy is back on the scene!! .

So what is a man and what is a woman?

Tough question. Women are wonderful feminine divine creatures and men are, well men. And then there are the inbetweens!

What’s your definition of feminine?

Gentle, kind, sexy, dresses, stockings, legs, long hair, high heels, make up etc .

Where do you feel you fit on the transgender spectrum CD TV TS?

definitely TV! .

Are you happy to be called a Tranny?

Tranny is fine. I think that drag queen is something very different which I am not. Drag queens are what you see on stage at Madam JoJo's or people like Lilly Savage .

To what degree do you feel gender dysphoric?

Well I don't know by how much but I definitely have a very strong feminine side that seems to get stronger all the time. .

To what degree would you consider permanent hair removal, hormones, and surgery?

I have toyed with the idea of laser or the new light hair removal and would be happy to do it (I hate shaving) and would have no problems with permanently removing the hair from my legs, arms and face but I am a bit worried about any possible side effects. So I am still undecided .

What individual has inspired you most in relation to your TG inclinations?
No doubt about that, Vicky Lee! She is a star and has done so much for us TV's.

Do you feel that you have any choice in your TG thoughts and actions?

Well, if I did I wouldn't choose any differently so it doesn't make any difference. However, I believe that we are what we are and can only really be happy when we accept that.

Have you ever suffered harassment or abuse?

No, never .

Have you tried to stop?

No never and don't want to.

Are your sexual preferences changed by your TG experiences (even temporarily)?

Now that's an interesting question. I have never thought of myself as gay or even Bi and am not attracted to men but when I am Mandy that seems to change. I am flattered when men compliment me at the club and am attracted to other TV's. This has led on to a couple of different experiences.

Have you suffered illness, depression, relationship break ups because of being TG?

No, I have been lucky in that way.

If you could relive your life without the TG experience would you?

No, I believe that I would miss out on what is a unique experience in life, let me explain. The first time that I went out dressed was on an escorted trip to JoJo's with Caroline Eggerton. Towards the end of the evening I needed to leave as I had a long drive home but Caroline wanted to stay. We had come to the club together in my car but she was happy to take a cab. I thanked her and said goodnight and left but it was only when I walked out onto the street that I realised that to get back to my car, I had to walk the whole length of Old Compton Street in Soho at 2.00 am in the morning, dressed as a woman! Now that was scary but also a wonderful experience as the feelings of vulnerability that I had were exactly what a real woman would probably have felt in the same situation. This was the first time that I understood what it could feel like to be a woman and it was a major experience in my life. If only there was not such a taboo about cross-dressing it would do a lot of men good to experience this and help us to understand each other better. (That's it for the soapbox trip) .

Do you feel that releasing your gender gift Has released creativity, that may otherwise have remained repressed?

No, not really.

Have you ever performed and if so how did you get into performing and what have you done? What outstanding TG experiences stand out in your mind?

No performing and apart from the amazing experience mentioned above, there was one summers night in Soho after the Way Out Club closed that a (real) girl took me to an all night coffee bar. I was dressed of course and we walked through the streets of Soho, which were still busy and the only comments I received from people were ones of encouragement. One very nice girl at the coffee bar came up to me and congratulated me on having the confidence to be there, dressed, that was rather special to me and I will never forget it.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone that has just found they are not the only tranny in the world?

Try and pluck up the courage to go to a dressing service in London and then visit the Way Out Club, (escorted if you prefer). It's what did it for me and I am very grateful to them for that. It will open up a whole new wonderful world for you and show you how much fun can be had as a TV which 'straight' people miss out on. I guess we are the lucky ones as we can have the best of both worlds.
